Wahnsinns-Konzert von David in Rexburg!
20 JunDie tweets und Nachrichten der Fans während und nach David’s Konzert in Rexburg, Idaho, am gestrigen Samstagabend überschlugen sich nur so vor Begeisterung – und wer dem CellCast gelauscht hat, kann erahnen, wie unglaublich David’s erste Show seit 6 Monaten war.
Neben seinen Songs vom ersten Album sang David auch zwei nagelneue, unveröffentlichte Lieder – Titel: „Not A Very Good Liar“ und „Parachutes & Airplanes“. Außerdem gab David einmal mehr John Lennon’s „Imagine“ zum besten und schloss sein Konzert mit einer sagenhaften Darbietung des Chorals „Be Still My Soul“, was das gesamte Publikum zu Tränen rührte.

Rexburg Standard Journal: Tausende bei Archuleta Signierstunde

If you thought David Archuleta could only pack a concert hall, you should have been at Deseret Book Thursday evening.
Fans swarmed to get their copies of Archuleta’s book „Chords of Strength“ signed, in what was the largest crowd the store has ever seen.
„The line goes down to Odell’s (Furniture), and has for 2 hours solid,“ said Mike Jenkins, store manager, after the signing had started. „My guess is several thousand people will come through by the end of the night, probably 2 or 3.“
He wasn’t far off. According to Deseret Book employee Ashley Jensen, 1,500 to 2,000 people came through the store Thursday after Archuleta started signing at 6 p.m., though official numbers won’t be available until next week. Jensen also said 233 copies of Archuleta’s book were sold on Thursday, numbers she said were, „definitely above normal.“
„I’ve worked here for two years, and I’ve never seen anything like this,“ said Jensen. „We’re so excited about this.“
And they weren’t the only ones who were excited. According to Jenkins, the first person in line, showing up around 10 a.m., was from Canada, the second from San Diego.
„They drove here just for this,“ said Jenkins.
There were old and young, male and female (though overwhelmingly female), and the camera flashes were as nonstop as the crowd. But there was one thing everyone had in common: They were all smiles. The line wasn’t rushed, and everyone seemed patient as Archuleta personalized each book set in front of him and posed for pictures.
„We did everything above and beyond what we were hoping to do to prepare for this,“ said Jensen. And that preparation paid off by creating a memorable evening for hundreds.
Archuleta can next be seen at the Brigham Young University-Idaho Hart Auditorium tonight in concert.
Part of BYU-Idaho’s Spirit Week activities, the show may or may not include new music for the fans. Archuleta wouldn’t give anything away. He has a new album coming out in the Fall, with the single arriving in July, both far enough in the future that Archuleta wouldn’t give up details. There are still tickets available for the Saturday night concert.
“Thank you for all the support you have shown and continue to show,“ Archuleta said, speaking to his fans in the upper valley.
„I hope you enjoy the new music that’s coming out, and reading the book. It’s all for you.“

David’s Interview mit BYU-Idaho (Teil 5)
19 JunIm fünften und letzten Teil seines Interviews mit BUYiComm.net spricht David über seine Tourpläne für den Herbst und den Wunsch, seinen Schulabschluss nachzuholen, den er für American Idol und die darauffolgende Arbeit an seiner Musikkarriere erst einmal auf Eis legen musste.
Aufgehorcht: David erwähnt, dass geplant ist, sein neues Album Ende September zu veröffentlichen, aber dass dies noch nicht zu 100% feststeht.

David am 11. Juli bei den Tejano Music Awards
19 JunDavid wird am 11. Juli in San Antonio, Texas, bei den 30. Tejano Music Awards auftreten, und dort zu Ehren der Latina-Sängerin Selena, die 1995 im Alter von nur 23 Jahren ermordet wurde und dadurch in den USA und Mexiko zur Legende wurde, deren Song „Como La Flor“ singen.
Neben David werden die Latin-Stars Pee Wee, Raul Malo, Tierra, Girl In A Coma, Texas Tornados, Arthur Hanlon, Regisseur Robert Rodriguez und Schauspieler Danny Trejo auftreten.
Moderiert wird die Award-Show von Latin Comedian Paul Rodriguez.

Auftritt in Washington D.C. für David am 4. Juli!

David wird am 4. Juli, dem Nationalfeiertag der USA auch als Independence Day bekannt, am Capitol in Washington D.C. bei „A Capitol FOURTH“ auftreten! Die in der amerikanischen Hauptstadt ausgetragene Geburtstagsshow (sozusagen) der USA, die dieses Jahr ihr 30jähriges TV-Jubiläum feiert, wird in den USA landesweit live von TV-Sender PBS in Millionen Haushalte und zu den US-Truppen im Ausland übertragen! Jährlich sind beim Konzert Hunderttausende Besucher am Capitol live vor Ort dabei. Neben David treten Künstler wie US-Countrystars Reba McEntire und Darius Rucker sowie Klassik-Weltstar Lang Lang auf. Die Show schließt traditionell mit einem spektakulären Feuerwerk.
