Die Zeitung The Salt Lake Tribune und Fernsehsender Fox 13 Utah haben über David’s Engagement für die MS Society of Utah und die gestrige Check-Übergabe berichtet.
Der Salt Lake Tribune schreibt:
“On Tuesday, David Archuleta, Murray’s “America Idol,” dropped by the West Jordan branch of the Cyprus Credit Union to accept a $50,000 donation for his charity, David vs. Goliath, dedicated to fighting Multiple Sclerosis.
The young singing star supports dozens of causes, but finds working to end MS “touching,” because he has watched family friends live with the disease.
Archuleta, who is touring this summer with Disney’s Demi Lovato, will sing the national anthem before the Real Salt Lake’s match with Colorado on June 6, and will perform after the game. The performance is part of the Rio Tinto Stadium’s “Charity Begins at Home” event, benefiting “Hill Air Force Base’s “Operation Warmheart.”
Fox 13 Utah interviewte David am Rande des gestrigen Events und sprach mit ihm neben MS noch über seine anstehenden Pläne für den Sommer und Album Nr. 2:
“SALT LAKE CITY – David Archuleta, the season seven runner-up on American Idol, returned to Utah on Tuesday to present a check to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Archuleta worked with Cypress Credit Union, who helped raise some of the funds for the check. He said the society is especially close to his heart because he has a lot of friends that struggle with MS.
FOX 13′s Brett Benson interviewed Archuleta and also asked him about his future music career plans. Before arriving in Utah Saturday, he performed in the UK and also in the Phillipines with American Idol winner David Cook. Archuleta said the Phillipines show sold over 52,000 tickets and thousands more outside watched the concert. He also attended the American Idol finale.
Archuleta is currently working on his second album and will be going on tour with Disney Channel star Demi Lovato next month. He also said that is still currently single.
“It’s just crazy because there is so much going on, it’s hard to just focus on a relationship right now,” Arculeta said.

Cindy ist die Ehefrau von Brett Hales, einem Nachbar und sehr guten Freund der Archuleta-Familie, der an Multiple Sklerose leidet. Gestern nahm David ja einen Check über 50.000,- US-Dollar zugunsten der MS Society of Utah entgegen – gestiftet von der Cyprus Credit Union – und sang am Rande der Check-Übergabe-Veranstaltung für Cindy “Happy Birthday”.
David ist einfach nur supermegalieb, und niemand singt “Happy Birthday” so schön wie er!!

Laut der Zeitung The Salt Lake Tribune wird David heute Abend einen Check in Höhe von 50.000 US-Dollar im Namen der MS Society Utah entgegennehmen. Gestiftet wird die sagenhafte Summe von Mitgliedern der Cyprus Credit Union. David, der sich schon seit Längerem für MS Patienten stark macht, was nicht zu letzt daran liegt, dass ein Freund und Nachbar der Familie an MS leidet, wird die Ehre zuteil den Check entgegenzunehmen, da er sich so für die MS Society engagiert! :) YAY!
